ABASA Convention 2018

Problem

Issue ABASA had

ABASA was hosting the annual ABASA convention 2018 at the ICC in Cape Town. They called us to help because there were not enough people who sent and RSVP for the event. This low rate of responses was because the people who support ABASA had little to no information about the convention.  The trick around this is that ABASA called us a week before the convention date.

Solution

What We Proposed

We were able to come up with an accelerated communication strategy. ABASA has a total of +/-18000 followers on social media, they have a database of members that has +/-3500 records. We came up with an email and SMS marketing strategy where we sent out communication to the database on a daily basis including SMS communication every second day during the week leading to the event. Social Media was a bonus because page admins were encouraged to post about the convention.

The Result

Outcome

There was an increase in responses towards the ABASA Convention 2018. People were now interested in the event because they were now fully informed about the event. ABASA was very pleased with the results.
